The general fundamental objective in eye care is the prevention of avoidable blindness which may require public health measures or medical or surgical treatments; hence the themes of the 30th SCO Congress:

Milestones in our commitment to a healthy vision

  • Assessing the quality of eye care in Cameroon from the dawn of time to the present day

  • Determine the mechanisms for integrating the current supply of eye care into the CSU

  • Extend continuing education in eye surgery to as many healthcare providers as possible for better national coverage

  • Establishing a consensus in the management of clinical forms of cataract

  • Conduct hands-on workshops with mentors ;

  • Provide various teachings on surgical eye pathologies that can be carried out in a hospital setting as well as in community health campaigns.
